May is Military Appreciation Month

UVBA Marketing

May is officially military appreciation month in the United States. We honor the service and sacrifice of both present members and passed in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, space force, and national guard, as well as the contribution of our beloved military spouses.

May was designated as national military appreciation month in 1999 by US Congress to help ensure that the nation was given the chance to publicly show their appreciation for our troops. May was the perfect month for this honor as we also celebrate military spouse appreciation day as well as Armed Forces

This is a time to reflect upon the important role the US Armed Forces have played in shaping the history and development of our country.

Current military as well as veterans should find many discounts throughout the month of May in their communities and online. Some of these discounts can be found at Academy sports and outdoors, Blue Star museums, Brakes To Go, Busch Gardens, the Cincinnati zoo, Colonial Williamsburg, the Indianapolis zoo, Legoland Discovery Center, Magic Springs theme and water park, Navy Federal Credit Union, QALO, Rack Room Shoes, Seaworld, Silverwood theme park, Sleep number beds, Splash Way water park and campground, Sunsplash family waterpark, UFC gym, and many more.
