2025 VA Pay Chart For Veterans With Dependents:

For veterans with dependents (spouse, children, or parents), the rates increase for disability ratings of 30% and above. The specific amounts vary based on the number and type of dependent.

Remember that these rates are tax-free at both the federal and state levels. The VA uses the disability rating system (Read about VA Math) to determine the severity of a veteran's service-connected disabilities and calculates the compensation accordingly. Below is the 2025 VA Pay Chart for these Veterans and their families.

Looking Ahead

It's important to note that these projections are preliminary. The official 2025 COLA will be announced by the Social Security Administration in October 2024, based on third-quarter inflation data.

According to The Senior Citizens League, research shows Social Security benefits have lost over thirty percent of their purchasing power since 2000 due in large part to inadequate COLAs and rising health care costs. To address this growing issue, TSCL urges Congress to adopt legislation that would base the COLA on an inflation index specifically for seniors, like the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E).

United Veteran Benefits Agency continues to advocate for fair and adequate cost-of-living adjustments that accurately reflect the financial needs of military personnel, veterans, and their families. We encourage all beneficiaries to stay informed about these developments and to plan accordingly for the coming year.

Remember, while the projected 2025 COLA may be lower than in recent years, it still represents an important mechanism for maintaining the purchasing power of military-related benefits in the face of rising costs.
